This is the now the 12th year that I and some of my friends are running the Self-Employed and Entrepreneurs Xmas Drinks in Sydney. It began when I and many of my friends didn’t have the glamorous and social (i.e. more than one person!) Christmas parties of the employed, so decided to celebrate together.
So, if you are self-employed, an entrepreneur, or work for a micro-business or start-up we’d be delighted if you joined us. Those who are employed but have friends who are self-employed are also very welcome – this is all about having a fun time!

Every year we run it I say that next year we should get a sponsor and do it on a bigger scale, as I’m sure there are plenty of other people in our situation who would like to have a drink with their peers. And every year I get too busy with other things, belatedly remember it’s time to organize the drinks, and we just do something basic.
So… if your company happens to have the inclination and kindness of heart to sponsor the Self-Employed and Entrepreneurs Xmas drinks by putting some money behind the bar, that would be awesome. There’s not a lot that we can offer in return with the current format, as there are zero formalities, just socializing, but I’m sure we can make everyone there aware of the sponsor, provide handouts etc. You can be sure that a great crowd of interesting and influential people will be there. Or we can always think about Xmas 2011…
